Financial Services IIC is constantly looking for funding sources. Currently IIC has the following resources. By scheduling an appointment you can see how IIC offers the advantage of exploring several options at one location. The SOHO loan program and ACCION Texas are designed for new companies. IIC is an approved Technical Assistance Provider for the Small Office Home Office, SBA backed loan. The SOHO loan allows for loans in increments of $5,000, $10,000, and $15,000. Terms are 7 years, at approximately 4.9% above prime. No business plan is required. IIC can process the application directly. A $ 475.00 fee is charged up front, the fee must be on the companies check. If the loan is not approved the fee is cancelled. IIC has an office of ACCION Texas which is a micro lender providing loans up to $35,000 or less. Certain fees and requirements do apply. IIC has an office of the SBA, which will assist a starting business by providing business plan consultation and determining the right product for their client. SBA loans typically are greater then $35,000. The International Innovation Center of the University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College has been designated a "State/City Partner of the Export-Import Bank of the United States". This means that the International Innovation Center is authorized to market all of Ex-Im Bank programs and to handle the preparation of the application forms for such programs IIC is one of only four direct representatives of the Export-Import Bank of the United States. IIC's trained staff can assist you by explaining the right program for you if you are exporting goods from the United States to a foreign country. IIC can also assist you in determining whether or not you qualify for incentive programs offered by the Greater Brownsville Incentive Corporation. Other effort currently being pursued are relationships with local banks, GE Financial Solutions, and the formation of an Angel investor Group. Banking Programs
IIC has developed a specific training program for the banking community. Highly qualified instructors can provide specific training such as the fundamentals of banking, teller training and management level courses related to the industry. The IIC banking program can combine basic skills such as English as a second language, Spanish as a second anguage, computer applications, and customer service related courses. |
