ABLE Exam

The Adult Basic Learning Examination (ABLE) is a battery of tests designed to measure the level of educational achievement among adults.  The examination consists of items relating to adult learning, and it may be used to assess the achievement level of adults who have had varying amounts of formal schooling.

The ABLE consists of six subtests: Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension, Spelling, Language, Number Operations, and Problem Solving. *Click here to sample items.

The ABLE exam is a requirement  for attending the police academy.  We offer the ABLE exam before an academy is scheduled to start (about a month prior).  It can be taken as many times as needed to pass, and it remains in your record for one (1) year, if you decide to attend a later academy.
