Mission:
It is the mission of the UTB/TSC Physical Plant to build, operate, and maintain the most hospitable campus through teamwork and high quality, courteous, professional, and personal service focusing on customer satisfaction.

Physical Plant’s responsibilities fall into TWO primary categories:

Maintenance of buildings and grounds: The UTB/TSC campus (including ITEC Campus, coastal teaching and research stations, and downtown historic buildings) consists of over 2 million square feet of building space and 384 acres of grounds. In their maintenance role, Physical Plant staff is responsible for preserving and/or restoring these buildings and grounds to such a condition that they can be effectively used for their intended purpose. Maintenance is an ongoing and continuous process.

Construction and renovation: Especially on a growing and dynamic campus such as ours, programs are continually being added and the space needs of existing programs change. Physical Plant includes a construction crew with the expertise and numbers to complete most small to medium sized projects. Larger projects may be contracted out and supervised by Physical Plant personnel.

New Arrival: Physical Plant is now using "iServiceDesk", a Physical Plant Facility Services browser based work request system. Our new computerized maintenance management system will enhance the quality of service provided to our campus. iServiceDesk provides a full feature set of functions via a web browser. You can enter your own work request and query for the status of both the request and work orders through iServiceDesk. The computerized maintenance management system will improve the flow and accountability of work orders within the Physical Plant Department.
