UTB/TSC’s new Center for Early Childhood Studies will add an important dimension to training student educators while providing a high-quality pre-school for the community’s children. This hands-on laboratory will offer education students real-life situations to practice teaching methods and the most current teaching strategies, as modeled by outstanding practitioners.

Student teachers will not be the only beneficiaries of the new facility. The 160 3-5-year-olds who attend the school will receive an exceptional foundation that will enhance their learning throughout their lives.

Together with the Raul J. Guerra Early Childhood Center, which has welcomed infants through preschool-age children since 1981, the new $5 million center will allow the university to triple the number of children served.
