The TASP test was renamed the Texas Higher Education Assessment, or THEA. The TASP law has been repealed and replaced by a new program called the Texas Success Initiative (TSI). TSI requires students to be assessed in reading, writing, and math skills prior to college enrollment. Each higher education institution may determine what course of action is necessary for the student based on the assessment results.
A comprehensive source for information regarding the THEA is available in the 2007-2008 THEA Bulletin. It contains information regarding registration, fees, study guides, required materials, and scores. For your convenience, an online version of the THEA bulletin is available here.
Online registration is also available, along with a Practice Test, at the THEA website.
