Study Skills Workshops

Learning Enrichment regularly schedules study skills workshops open to the university community.  In addition, the Learning Enrichment also provides in-class workshops are offered in a specific course when we are invited by an instructor. We offer students the tools they need to not only surmount the academic challenges that they face, but to strive for a better grade in their courses. A multiplicity of topics is presented in a dynamic and fun way, so as to engage students in activities that are relevant to them and immediately applicable. Each semester, sessions cover different topics, depending on student needs and faculty feedback. The sessions include, but are not limited to:

  • Tackling the Textbook
  • Efficient Note-Taking 
  • Using Research Resources 
  • APA and MLA
  • Time Management
  • Overcoming Test Anxiety
  • Effective Listening / Learning
  • Writing Research Paper

Test Preparation Workshops

To help students prepare for exams, LE provides a variety of test preparation workshops. Topics covered include:

  • COMPASS writing, reading, and math
  • THEA writing, reading, and math
  • Watson-Glaser Critical Thinking Assessment
  • Preparing for Exams 
  • Overcoming Test Anxiety
