History

The Rio Grande Valley Chapter started after seventeen students completed Level I training at the University of Texas, Brownsville, and decided to form a chapter.  In 2004, the RGV chapter sponsored a Chapter Sharing and its first workshop with clinician Oscar Muñoz. 

The Rio Grande Valley Orff Chapter #117P received its charter at the American Orff Schulwerk Association national convention, "Southern Harmony--- Many Voices One Spirit", in Birmingham, Alabama  November 2005.

Our chapter sponsors workshops and chapter sharing each year.
