Staff Senate Constitutional
Referendum Passes!
Posted: May 5, 2008
-
The Staff Senate conducted a Constitutional Amendment
Referendum during five (5) working days beginning on April 28, 2008 at
8:00 a.m. and ending on May 2, 2008 at 5:00 p.m.;
-
101 qualifying and eligible staff members casted their
individual vote during that period;
-
100 members voted to approve the proposed Staff Senate
constitutional amendment and one member voted to reject these changes;
this represents a simple majority of 99%, constituting the approval of
the proposed Staff Senate Constitutional Amendment by the UTB/TSC Staff.
Next Steps:
-
The Staff Senate Chair will request that the proposed
Staff Senate Constitutional Amendment language be reviewed by the
Provost Council for their recommendation, for approval by the President
of UTB/TSC.
-
If approved, the UTB/TSC Staff Senate Constitutional
Amendment will then seek approval of the UT System as appropriate.
-
Once approval of the UT System has been granted, the
Staff Senate Constitution language will be changed in the institutional
HOOP.
