Welcome to Student Organizations...
Get Involved!!
Getting involved in student organizations at the University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College can be one of the most fulfilling and rewarding experiences you will have during your collegiate experience. Student organizations are created and run by students with support from the Office of Student Life. By joining an organization, you have the opportunity to meet and socialize with students who have similar interests. You also have the advantage of interacting with faculty, staff and even community leaders.
While some organizations recruit new members at the beginning of each semester, most groups welcome new members throughout the year. With over 60 registered student organizations covering the variety of academic/honorary, social, service, recreational, and other special interests, you have the opportunity to expand your learning beyond the classroom. As a member of a UTB/TSC organization, students have learned new skills, built friendships, gained unique opportunities, and enriched the environment and people around them. You develop important new relationships and gain experiences that benefit throughout your life.
It’s highly likely there is a student organization just waiting for you! If not, you can always start one! I invite you to explore the student organization room located in the Student Union Bldg 2.16. Our office is here to support and assist you in your role as a student leader.
