
Register For STING
Who has to take NCB 1000?
All students who have not complied with the Texas Success Initiative policy (College Ready) must enroll in NCB 1000 lab section. Student must pass the state required test which includes the THEA test or an approved alternative test. Students who fail to meet one of the minimum passing scores in reading, writing, or math in the state required exam must register in NCB 1000 lab section. Students who are exempt or pass all sections of the state required test do not need to register in NCB 1000. NCB 1000 is a non credit based course and students receive an “S” for Satisfactory or “U” for Unsatisfactory on their transcript. Students who receive a “U” on their transcript for NCB 1000 lab and are deficient in one of three areas (reading, writing or math) must register for NCB 1000 the following semester. Students are exempt from the NCB 1000 only if they receive an “S” on their transcript or pass all parts of the state required exam.
REGISTRATION
Students register for STING via Scorpion Online or through their Academic Advisor. Just enroll for NCB 1000 and you are registered for the STING Success Peer Mentor Program.
