You must complete an online pre-orientation session in order to register for your on-campus Scorpiontation.

 

Steps to Access On-Line Orientation:

1. Go to MyUTBTSC.Blackboard.com
   
   

2. At that point, you will be navigated onto Blackboard. To access Blackboard you must enter your username and password. Your username consists of the first letter of your first and last name and your seven-digit UTBTSC student ID.
   
   

   Example:

    

   Name: Ima Student

   Student ID: 1234567

   Username: IS1234567

   ** Please Note: Username must be exactly 9 characters, 2 initials + 7 digit student ID

   Your password is your Four Digit Personal Identification Number (PIN). If you have forgotten or do not know your four-digit PIN, contact the Info Shop in Tandy Hall Lobby, email: infoshop@utb.edu, or call (956) 882-7611.

   
   

3. Once logged into your Blackboard, you will see a box labeled "My Courses." Under the subsection, "Courses in which you are enrolled," click on the course entitled "PreOnline Scorpiontation."

 

At that point, you will officially begin your online orientation. You will be guided through a series of sessions, in which, after each you will answer a few questions in order to continue. Once you have successfully completed all the sesions, you will be able to register for your live-orientation date.

You will receive a confirmation & reminder letter via e-mail and post a few days prior to your registered orientation date.

 

Dates for Summer 2008 On-Campus Scorpiontation

All dates are Wednesday & Thursday unless otherwise stated.  You must attend both dates to receive orientation credit.

 

On-Campus Schedule:

Wednesday, Day 1- 2:00 – 7:30 p.m.

     7:30 – 9:30p.m. - Food, Fun, & Games (optional)

 

Thursday, Day 2- 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

     2:30 –- 5:00 p.m. - Advising & Registration  (only for those who still need to be advised or registered).

Family memebers are welcome to attend Scorpiontation. Basic information regarding university policy, housing, financial aid, and student services will be covered. A campus tour will also be given.

Please note that family members will not be accompanying the students throughout the day. Students and family members will be in separate information sessions.

You will have the opportunity to register a family member once you have successfully completed your pre-online orientation.

 

Orientation Fee:

( $50 per student )

Your orientation fee covers expeses for the program, such as lunch and materials given to you. This fee will be charged to your student tuition for your entering Summer or Fall semester. This fee is non-refundable. If you cancel or do not show on your registered date, there is an additional cancellation / no-show fee of $15.

Walk-ins will not be accepted.
