The Learning Assistance Center consists of a highly qualified and motivated team composed of a director, five Learning Instructional Specialists, tutors, and support staff, who are committed to perpetuating a learner-centered and friendly learning environment for students.

Learning Instructional Specialists are degreed individuals who supervise and develop the programs and services, work closely with students and faculty from all courses and levels of study. They are on the vanguard of the latest research, implementing innovative, holistic, and flexible approaches that foster the student’s critical-thinking skills and learning styles, in order to lead them to become independent learners. An important part of the Learning Instructional Specialist’s responsibilities includes conducting periodic needs assessments of the students, faculty and university community, as well as evaluating the effectiveness of the assistance they provide.
