The Learning Assistance Center (LAC) is firmly committed to uphold and promote the mission and philosophy of Student Affairs, as well as that of The University of Texas and Texas Southmost College, by providing academic support services that contribute to the achievement and retention of students. By focusing on the learning-skills needs of the university community, the Learning Assistance Center serves as an academic resource for students, faculty, and staff of both the occupational technology and academic programs. The mission of the LAC is to increase graduation rates and improve student retention by proactively offering learning-support programs and self-enhancement services, designed to help students acquire and maximize learning and study skills. The LAC is also committed to nurturing students’ personal success and university experience by meeting their specific needs and providing the resources they need to maximize their learning potential and academic performance. |
