Individual Counseling / Psychotherapy

Highly skilled counselors and therapists are trained to assist students with a wide range of personal concerns. In a trusting and confidential setting, a student may wish to examine issues such as gaining independence, managing relationships, or reducing stressors in their life.

Other students struggle with severe problems stemming from childhood, critical life events such as a recent loss or trauma, or with finding meaning and fulfillment in their lives.

Intensive counseling or psychotherapy may be especially helpful to you if you exhibit problems such as:

  • Depression
  • Eating Disorders
  • Obsessions and Complusions
  • Intensive Anger
  • Alcohol/Substance Abuse
  • Coping with HIV or other illness (self or other)
  • Anxiety
  • Low Self-Esteem
  • Conflicts with Partner or Family Member
  • Self-Defeating Behavior
  • Thoughts of Harming Yourself or Another
  • Dealing with an Abusive Relationship
  • Sexual Problems

Students are typically seen once a week for 50 minutes. Students are allowed one visit per week, although in a crisis situation additional sessions may be scheduled. There is no session limit or fee for service.
