Q: What is counseling?
A: Counseling is a process that enables a person to grow in a way that s/he chooses. Students may want to change their behavior, thoughts, or lifestyle or increase self-awareness. The counselor's job is to help the student work towards achieving those goals for personal growth and development
Q: Who is eligible for counseling services?
A: Counseling services are provided to all currently enrolled UTB/TSC students at no cost to them. Services are private and confidential and are not part of your school record.
Q: How do I make an appointment for counseling services?
A: Call Student Health Services at 882-8951 and ask to be scheduled to meet with a counselor; or you may stop by during regular business hours, Student Health Services is located in Cortez Hall 237.
Q: Can I request a specific counselor?
A: A student may request a gender preference in selecting a counselor, or may ask for a specific counselor by name; however, this may result in a delay of services.
Q: I'm still not sure counseling is for me. Where can I get more information?
A: Many students are initially apprehensive about receiving counseling. Our counselors will be more than happy to answer any questions students may have about the conseling process. Stop by Student Health Services at Cortez Hall 237 or call 882-8951 for more information.
