The UTB/TSC Chess Program will provide scholarship opportunities to gifted chess players from our area and beyond, and provide them with opportunities to play important tournaments.  Our titled coach will offer high-quality instruction to the students on our chess team so they may continue to improve.  Our staff will monitor our students’ academic progress and help them obtain any necessary additional academic assistance.  We will continue to offer scholarships to the winners of the most important tournaments in our region.  In order to improve the level of play in our area, our chess program will offer free outreach classes to area students and parents.  Our staff will provide training for area chess coaches so that they may teach their students more effectively.
