GEAR UP and BookBee Sponsor Scorpions

The Scorpion baseball program have added more advertising sponsors to the outfield fence. The first four sponsors that have committed to this project are GEAR UP and the BookBee.

GEAR UP has helped to develop and support educational partnerships between schools, colleges and universities, libraries, organizations, businesses, and chambers of commerce. Over 1,000 organizations nationwide currently participate in GEAR UP partnerships. GEAR UP is a national initiative to encourage more young people to have high expectations, stay in school, study hard and take the right courses to go to college. GEAR UP is a federally funded program and are located on the UTB/TSC campus in TANDY HALL 207. They may be contacted at 956-983-7586. For the past several years, GEAR UP has brought hundreds of students to Scorpion baseball games. The Scorpions would like to thank Mrs. Alma Garcia, Director and Mr. Rene Sayas, Assistant Director for their continued support of the Scorpion baseball program.

The BookBee have also sponsored the Scorpions. They have made a two year committment with the program. The BookBee is currently located at 1767 Boca Chica Blvd. in Brownsville. The can be reached at 542-1902.
