MENTORS

Running Start mentors provide assistance in the following areas:

Admissions
College applications can be confusing and overwhelming.  Peer Mentors will facilitate the application process and inform students about academic programs of study (a.k.a. majors), college entrance requirements, and application deadlines.

Testing
Students must meet certain testing requirements before attending a college or university.  Mentors advise students of testing and test registration deadlines.

Financial Aid and Scholarships
Financial aid and scholarships can help pay for college if you qualify.  Mentors supply important information about several types of funding for college students.

On-Campus Housing
Students who plan to live on campus need to apply for housing.  Through our mentoring services, students will learn about the many housing options.

Career/Academic Advising
Mentors can provide assistance to program participants with academic advising and help them in making decisions about their educational career goals.
