Scheduling: Rene presented  difficulties and recommended solutions encountered with room scheduling at the beginning of this Fall semester. General areas covered:
? Fewer cancellations mean fewer open rooms which means less flexibility
? Peak times- MWF 9-11; TTh 9:25-12
? U-courses created double scheduling; need work-around procedure
? Rene will create set procedures/guidelines for scheduling
? Recommendation: Rene can say NO to Deans when room capabilities won’t allow section master request
? Room scheduling prioritization based on historical analysis
? Need peak time cross-trained or part-time employees
? Need more classes w/ technology capabilities (North & South)s or technology carts
? Need to consider fire code violations relative to room capacities
? Fall 2000: 859 sections scheduled into 64 GP classrooms

Academic Advising: Eli advised the group that a recurring problem  at registration time, especially arena, is the student that needs one more course to qualify for Financial Aid.  Some students will sign up for anything.
