1. Enrollment: Members reviewed enrollment figures as of the morning of January 5th.  Registration will continue through 5:00 p.m. January 5th.  In-person, arena registration is being considered for Wednesday, January 13, 1999.  Members discussed what might be done to ease students’ experiences during the first week of classes.  Ideas included ensuring that deans and chairs were in their offices on the evenings of the first two days of class and providing timely, ubiquitous room change information.

2. General Education Task Force: Carolyn Green reported that the task force had requested that the core curriculum be included as an agenda item at the college/school meetings scheduled for January 7.  Copies of the core curriculum proposal will be distributed for review in the meetings and task force members from the colleges and schools will be present to lead discussion of the proposal and any remaining issues that need to be addressed.
