UTB/TSC Hosts Border Wall Subcommittee Hearings
(Brownsville, Texas, April 28, 2008)- The University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College was at the center of the nationwide border wall debate Monday, April 28, as two U.S. House of Representatives subcommittees held a field hearing to hear testimony on the wall’s impact on the environment and border communities.

UTB/TSC and DHS agree to study border security alternatives 
(Brownsville, Texas, March 19, 2008)
-Brownsville Federal Judge Andrew Hanen dismissed a civil action suit Wednesday, March 19 against The University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College after the University and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security reached an agreement regarding access to University property.

TSC Board Passes Border Fence Resolution
(Brownsville, Texas-Oct. 25, 2007)-The Texas Southmost College District Board of Trustees unanimously approved a resolution against the proposed border fence during a board meeting Thursday, Oct. 25. The resolution urges the U.S. Government to pursue alternative solutions to the border fence that will not divide the institution and community.
