Ana Pena

Bio

Ana del Rosario Oliva de Peña was born in Guatemala City. She came to Brownsville, Texas in 1981 and decided to stay and attend school in order to learn English. She registered at Texas Southmost College, where she started her University Education as an ESL student in 1982. She continued her education at Pan American University where she received a degree in Business Administration. In 1998, she began teaching at UTB. It was here that she discovered that teaching was what she really enjoyed doing. She is the Multi-Media Lab Director and Lecturer in the Modern Languages Department at UTB.

Bilingualism and the language transfer that occurs in bilinguals (English-Spanish and Spanish-English)
