Bio
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She holds a Licenciatura en Ciencias de la Educación from the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, Argentina, and a Master’s and a Ph.D in Hispanic Languages and Literatures from the University of Pittsburgh, PA.
Dr. Díaz is an Associate Professor in the Modern Languages Department, University of Brownsville, TX on the Mexican-US border.
Her area of specialization is Children’s Literature in Spanish. She designed, developed and currently teaches Children’s Literature to future teachers. She is currently writing a textbook in Children’s Literature in Spanish.
Dr. Díaz also teaches Spanish-American Theatre, Contemporary Spanish-American Short Story and Cinema and culture, among other courses. She is the founder of the Grupo de Teatro Universitario “La Ventana” and co-founder of the University Cinema Club.
