Lecture Hall

The SETB Lecture Hall is one
of the most beautiful sites in our campus. Inaugurated in 1998, it has been
used for events for this institution and outside entities as well.
The approximate seating capacity for this room is 340.
No food nor drinks are allowed in the room.

The control room shown in
the back contains the area for video and sound operation. Only Media
Services personnel is allowed in this room. Interpreters also
work from this area.

One of many uses of this
facility is for UTB/TSC mariachi concerts. Thought the year, the award
wining Mariachi Escorpion performs in this stage for various events,
including concerts, fundraisers, or simply to entertain students, staff or
those who visit our campus for special events.

Musician perform on stage at
the SETB Lecture Hall. Other groups that use this stage perform
various types of music, including norteņo, tejano, jazz, rock, opera, voice
and instrument ensembles. Music students also use this room for their
recitals.

The University of Texas at
Brownsville was the host for the XVI Border Governors' Conference in June
1998. The SETB Lecture Hall was the main site for this meeting between the
governors from both sides of the Mexican and US border.
