Program Mission Statement for the Department of Health and Human Performance:
The mission of the University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College Department of Health and Human Performance is to provide quality instruction that will enhance student achievement to meet the changing roles and expectations of professionals in the fields of health and human performance.  The department is committed to developing professionals in the areas of physical education, health education, exercise science and wellness promotion.
 School Goal:  Infrastructure

 2.1    Expand undergraduate and graduate degree opportunities that meet and respond to the needs of students

Department/Program Objective:

1. Promote and increase student enrollment in the master’s degree program

  1. Develop a marketing plan for the program
  2. Work closely with the area school district to make them aware of the program and to recruit graduate students
