Jazz Band

The Wind program at UTB/TSC offers students many performance opportunities.  These students can participate in many ensembles including Mariachi Escorpion, Rio Bravo Wind Symphony, one of our three Jazz Bands, Percussion Ensemble, Flute Choir, Scorpio Consort (Recorder Ensemble) and Brass Choir.  The Mariachi Escorpion is an award-winning ensemble that receives many accolades for their performances of this traditional Mexican style.  They were recently invited to perform at the Inaugural ceremonies in Washington D.C.  The Wind Symphony tours many cities highlighting the multitude of talents at UTB/TSC.  The Jazz Bands have consistently received top honors at the Greeley, Colorado Jazz Festival and won “Outstanding Jazz Band” at the South Bend Jazz Festival at Notre Dame.  They have also performed with such world-class musicians as Celia Cruz, Tito Puente Jr. and Jose Feliciano.
