The piano program offers many exciting opportunities for piano majors. They will study technique, literature, jazz application and pedagogy aspects in relation to the piano. With our new 9-foot Steinway Concert Grand, pianists perform on an exceptional instrument to further their studies. Students also have access to a 12-keyboard station lab featuring the Yamaha Clavinova digital pianos. Our piano majors are taught by our distinguished pianist instructors Richard Urbis and Mina Kim Kramer. Students are enriched by attending regular piano concerts in the Patron of the Arts series and the Steinway Series, featuring a concert by a Van Cliburn Competition winner, a faculty concert, and a student concert. Music majors are required to participate in 2 ensembles.
