Jonathan Guist is Assistant Professor of Music at the University of Texas at Brownsville where he teaches applied clarinet, clarinet ensemble and graduate courses in music education. He holds a DMA from the Eastman School of Music, an MM from Baylor University and a BME from New Mexico State University. Previous teaching engagements have included the Eastman School of Music, Nazareth College, Baylor University, the Hochstein School of Music and Dance and the Conservatory of Central Illinois. Dr. Guist maintains a busy performance schedule both as a soloist and as an orchestral and chamber musician. He is a founding member of Trio Chômeurs who actively strive to bring chamber music back into the cultural mainstream through innovative programming. The trio was featured on a program entitled “Attracting New Audiences” at the 2007 International Double Reed Conference in Ithaca, NY.
