Renowned soprano,
Amy Hymel Brownlow, holds degrees from the
University of
Texas at Austin where she earned
a MM in Vocal Performance and BMEd with a
Performance Certificate. Mrs. Hymel Brownlow
performs throughout the United States, Mexico,
and Europe. Her international performances include the
Opera festival di Roma in Rome, Italy and Centro
Studi Italiani in Urbania, Italy where she
performed Suor Angelica and
I Pagliacci. While in Italy, she worked
with such well-known musicians as Carlos
Morganti, Patricia Heuermann, Mikael Eliassen,
and Patricia Miller. Mrs. Hymel Brownlow also
performed the opening concert honoring the
conductor Sergio Cardenas for the Festival
Internacional de Mexico. While in New York, she
sang the role of Donna Anna in Don
Giovanni, and performed the leading
roles in Babes in Arms and the
revue Love and Marriage. She is
the founder and artistic director of the
university's Bravo Opera Company. In addition
to her active performing schedule, Mrs. Hymel
Brownlow is a highly respected vocal pedagogue.
She teaches voice and has coached many of her
students to successfully compete in the NATS
vocal competitions earning positions as
finalists and several first place designations.
