Jazz Bands

Director:  Mr. Terry Tomlin

UTB/TSC has many jazz ensembles and the One O’Clock Jazz Band has made a great impact on the university’s image. They have gained many recognitions, including performing for Attorney general John Ashcroft in Washington, D.C. Students from the Jazz Band also perform in Jazz Combos and competed against other top universities like UT-Austin, University of Oklahoma, Princeton, and University of Southern California at the North Texas Jazz Festival, gaining three outstanding soloist awards. The ensemble, under the direction of Terry Tomlin, tours annually around Texas and the United States. Students may also join the 2 O’ Clock Jazz band, the Latin Jazz Ensemble, or one of the Jazz Combos.
