Welcome from the Chair

As the Chairperson of the English and Communication Department, it is my distinct privilege to be able to welcome you to our webpage on behalf of my colleagues in English and Communication. Among our course offerings, you will find some of the most challenging and stimulating courses on campus, and I am proud to say that the faculty in our department includes many nationally and even internationally known scholars. We pride ourselves on having a broad range of courses taught by a skilled and credentialed faculty drawn from around the world. What is more, students who choose to major in English or Communication are themselves amongst the most gregarious and interesting people on campus. I hope that you will consider us as you think about the many choices that now confront you, but whether you do or not, remember that you are welcome to come by and visit with any of us; we would be delighted to talk to you.
