Current Lab Members
Dr. Eric Linder is involved in these projects and more.
Guillermo Aguilar is currently examining the population status of the Gulf Coast Kangaroo Rat on South Padre Island.
Denise Trujillo is examining what birds utilize resacas (oxbow lakes) in the Lower Rio Grande Valley.
Christa Stubblefield is examining the impact of raking beaches on the shorebird community on SPI
Erika Blanco is determining the impact of different revegetation approaches of thornscrub on the avian community.
Amy Cobo-Clark is looking at the tardigrades of Mexico.
Luis Liendo is examining the spatial-temporal variation of raptor diversity and abundance in the LRGV.
Past Lab Members
Dr. Michael Husak (Ph. D., 2007)
Mike
studied the influence of Green-tree Reservoir management (which dramatically changes the forest
structure) on the avian community
structure during both the breeding and non-breeding seasons at Noxubee NWR. He
is currently a faculty member at
Cameron University in
OK.
Ross Conover
(M.S. 2005)
Ross determined how birds responded to the establishment of field borders in the agriculturally dominated landscape of the MS Delta. He examined both population and community responses to border width, again in the breeding and non-breeding seasons. He has continued his research in the Delta (and has spoke of getting a permanent trailer there) for his dissertation at Iowa State.
Sarah Gibbs (M.S. 2007)

Sarah spent her summers tracking the elusive Acadian Flycatcher around the Noxubee NWR. She utilized program MARK to ascertain what factors most strongly influence reproductive success of individuals breeding in the bottomland hardwoods of east-central MS. She is currently a faculty member at Colby College.

K. Winslow Stodola (M.S. 2005)
Winslow got out of the heat of MS and up in the mountains of North Carolina where he examined the influence of climate on prey abundance (primarily lepidoptera larvae) and its' role in the spatial-temporal variation in reproductive success of warblers (BTBW & OVEN) breeding on an elevation gradient at Coweeta Hydrological Lab (in the Nantahala NF). He is continuing this research for his dissertation at UGA.
