Introduction to Psychology |
General Information
This course is a sophomore level course with no prerequisites. This course introduces you to the major topics in psychology. Since this is a survey course, the pace is rapid. We don't spend very much time on any one topic. Advice from former students is to READ, READ, READ! Read the chapter before we discuss it in class. That way you will have a foundation for understanding the topic and you can bring your questions to class for explanation.
Students have found supplemental instruction, the Study Guide accompanying this textbook and the textbook web site Blackboard accessible through MyUTBTSC to be helpful. The Study Guide for the textbook, available at the bookstore, has several practice tests for each chapter and has been highly recommended by former students.
