I climbed the Great Wall on a recent trip to China. I enjoy travel to archeological sites in the US and Mexico.

Native plant landscaping is my hobby. This is Heartleaf hibiscus (Tulipan del Monte), a shrub native to South Texas.

I currently teach courses in Psychology and direct the UTB/TSC Conflict Resolution Center. My master's degree in psychology is from Texas A&M, Kingsville. Additionally, I am a certified mediator and hold licensures as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Psychological Associate.

Conflict Resolution Center

The Conflict Resolution Center offers free services in problem solving and mediation to students who are experiencing conflict with another person. Problem solving offers individual consultation to help students analyze the conflict and plan strategies to resolve the conflict. Mediation brings you and the other party together in a private, face-to-face meeting, where you both can discuss the conflict and resolve the conflict with the help of student mediators who are trained in conflict resolution and mediation. The mediators will help you come to a mutually acceptable solution. Call 983-7235 and leave a message or send an email to     resolve@utb.edu. A volunteer from the Conflict Resolution Center will call or email you back and schedule a meeting.

If you would like to become a volunteer student mediator, take either the undergraduate  (Psyc 4306) or graduate (Psyc 5306) course in Conflict Resolution. After successful completion of the course, you may apply to be a student mediator.
