Current Projects

Director of Partners in Fitness

This is a five-year project examining and providing intervention for children’s and adolescents’ health-related fitness.  Currently there are eight school districts involved in this project.  To date we have access and the opportunity to affect over 2,000 students in the schools through their Physical Education program.  We look to expand this within the next 6-months.  These schools have agreed to submit all of their health-related fitness data toward this project for the next 5 years.

This project is allowing us to obtain quantitative data on children’s health, particularly their body composition and cardiovascular fitness.  In the future, we want to obtain clinical data for a more in-depth examination of the participants’ health status.  This will give us a good measure of future health trends within the communities so that pro-active measures and interventions may be made possible.
