STUDENT CHARACTERISTICS

This section provides basic demographics for UTB/TSC semester credit students including such information as ethnicity, gender, age, residence, declared major, and financial assistance. For reporting and funding requirements, some of the data are summarized separately for Texas Southmost College, The University of Texas at Brownsville, and the UTB/TSC Partnership.

If a student is enrolled in a combination of TSC and UTB courses, he or she is included in the enrollment figures at each institution. However the UTB/TSC figures referenced in this section are unduplicated - a student is only counted once even if the student is concurrently enrolled at TSC and UTB.

Because of the three different student populations referenced in this section, each table and chart has been titled as follows:

TSC

(Includes students enrolled in developmental and lower division semester credit courses offered by Texas Southmost College. Some of these students may also be enrolled in UTB courses.)

UTB

(Includes students enrolled in lower and upper division and graduate semester credit courses offered by The University of Texas at Brownsville. Some of these students may also be enrolled in TSC courses.)

UTB/TSC

(Includes students enrolled in TSC semester credit courses, UTB semester credit courses, or a combination of semester credit courses from TSC and UTB.)
