Dr. Buckler was born and raised in Paris,
Kentucky, where he became a "die hard" fan of the Kentucky Wildcats men's
basketball team. In 1999, he started coursework at the University of
Cincinnati toward a doctorate degree in criminal justice. He moved to
Brownsville, Texas in 2004 after completing his Ph.D. He primarily
teaches criminological theory and corrections courses for the Department of
Criminal Justice.
