In 1994, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Public Justice Legal Studies from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas.  I went on to earn a Criminal Justice Master’s of Arts from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.  I established a peer mediation program on all eight campuses of Indiana University during my first year of graduate school and served as an Assistant Instructor for the second year.  For the past nine years, I served the community in my role as a Specialized Supervision Officer for sex offenders on probation.  The last four years of service included the role of an Adjunct Faculty member for the UT System.  I became a full-time adjunct faculty member in the Fall of 2006.
