Scholarships

The NELNET Scholarship Giveaway awards 10 grand prizes of $25,000 and 750 first prizes of $1,000 to U.S. citizens and legal residents. Applicants must be age 16 and older, attend a college or university and be enrolled in undergraduate programs only. For more information and an application, visit www.nelnet.com/win

The Earth Science Scholarship Fund “Every Drop Counts” awards $10,000 and is available U.S. citizens and Texas residents at the time of application. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA or higher, be pursuing or have plans to pursue a higher education in the earth/environmental sciences at an accredited four-year college or university and not employees or related to employees of Nestle Waters North America or Ozarka Natural Spring Water. The National Federation of the Blind 2008-2009 Scholarship Program awards range from $3,000 to $12,000 and are available to the legally blind who plan to attend full-time in a postsecondary course of study. If chosen as recipients, students must participate in all scheduled NFB program activities. The deadline to apply is March 31. The National Association of Hispanic Journalists Scholarship is available to Latino students pursuing a career in journalism. Awards range from $1,000 to $5,000. The deadline to apply is March 31. The Sallie Mae Fund “First in My Family Scholarship Program” is available to Hispanics or those of Hispanic descent who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents, who will be full-time undergraduate students for the upcoming year, have a 3.0 GPA, demonstrate financial need, and be the first in the family to attend college for the upcoming year.
