The automated teller machine in the Student
Union’s Scorpion Café is scheduled to be fixed on Nov. 6, according
to Wells Fargo officials.
The ATM has not in been operation for about a
month due to construction of the Recreation, Education and
Kinesiology Center.
“The cable servicing these lines had to be
rerouted; [the] Student Union’s ATM is supposed to be serviced from
[the Life and Health Sciences] AT&T demarcation location,” said
Fitratullah Khan, director of Infrastructure, Telecommunications and
Networks. “The phone and data lines to the ATM are directly
from AT&T, bypassing the institution’s phone system.”
In an Oct. 19 e-mail to the university, Odilia
Lara, an administrative assistant for Wells Fargo, said the circuit
that supplies the ATM’s communication was moved from the UTB/TSC
Physical Plant to the REK Center.
“Many things have taken place to make this
happen and at this point the final step must be completed by a Wells
Fargo technician,” Lara stated in the e-mail.
On Oct. 10, AT&T installed new circuits and a
Wells Fargo technician must finish installing the integrated service
digital network line for the ATM, according to the e-mail.
