Reports
Following are among the incidents reported by
Campus Police between Sept. 5 and 7.
At 11:12 a.m. Sept. 5, a student driving a 1992
Toyota Corolla accidentally struck a 2005 Dodge pickup truck while
looking for a parking space in Lot Z.
At 12:30 p.m. the same day, a student reported
losing a Financial Assistance refund check for $831 between Tandy
Hall and Cardenas Hall North. At 12:50 p.m. a staff member reported
finding the check outside Cardenas Hall North.
At 6:11 p.m. the same day, a student employee
of the Scorpion Body Shop reported that a student passed out while
on a stationary bicycle. Student Health Services treated the woman.
At 6:22 p.m. the same day, a Porter High School
student reported losing his cell phone while playing golf at the
Fort Brown Memorial Golf Course. The loss was estimated at $150.
At 6:43 p.m. the same day, a student reported
being issued a warning after parking his 2000 Lincoln sedan in the
Newman Center parking lot. The warning stated, “This vehicle is
parked illegally and is hereby subject to towing and impoundment.
Your license number has been recorded.” The sticker also read,
“ˇPaga permiso!” A Campus Police officer told the man he could
not park his car at the Newman Center because it is private
property.
At 6:12 a.m. Sept. 6, a Campus Police officer
reported that a fire alarm sounded in Tandy Hall. The officer
checked the area but did not find any signs of smoke or fire.
At 8:25 a.m. the same day, a student reported
that her parking permit was stolen while her vehicle was parked in
Lot T.
At 9:31 a.m. the same day, a Physical Plant
employee reported a 6-foot ladder missing from a restroom in
Cardenas Hall North. The ladder was later found in a North Hall
storage room.
At 12:06 p.m. Sept. 7, a student driving a 1999
Oldsmobile Alero accidentally struck a Nissan Altima while
attempting to park in Lot Z. No injuries were reported.
