THURSDAY August 30, 2007 - For the second time, the UTB Symphony Orchestra was invited this summer to perform in Mexico as part of the anniversary celebration of two distinguished music institutions - the Instituto Garcia de Cisneros, celebrating its 50th anniversary, and the Puebla State Conservatory of Music, celebrating its 90th.

It was an exhilarating experience for the students who not only had the opportunity to perform with other orchestra and choirs, but also to learn about the Puebla State culture. They visited Cholula, one of the most prominent cities of the Aztec empire and also Puebla City, named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

They performed jointly with the Conservatory Youth Orchestra in Puebla City and a day later in San Martin City, the Symphony showcased its professionalism. Their last performance was in Cholula where they played along with the Instituto Garcia de Cisneros choir.

Total attendance was about 2000 and the impressed Puebla sponsors have requested the Symphony to perform next year
