Dr. Carol McNabb holds degrees in bassoon performance including a D.M.A. from the University of Arizona, a M.M. from Northeast Louisiana University, and a B.M. from the University of North Texas.

 

She is a recent recipient of the NISOD award for teaching excellence. Dr. McNabb has been a member of many orchestras, including the Fort Worth Symphony and Opera Orchestras, the Shreveport Symphony, the Tucson Symphony Orchestra, and the Catalina Chamber Orchestra with which she performed Villa- Lobos' Ciranda Das Sete Notas.   

 

She has also performed with the State Orchestra of Monterrey, the Corpus Christi Symphony, and the Valley Symphony Orchestra.  In demand as a recitalist, she performs throughout the United States and Mexico and performs annually in the Desert Foothills Chamber Music Festival in Scottsdale, Arizona.

 

Dr. McNabb is the coordinator of freshman music theory at UTB/TSC where she teaches theory, aural skills, and double reeds, and directs the Scorpio Consort, an early music ensemble.  She has presented recitals and lectures at conventions of the Texas Music Educators Association, College Music Society South Central Region, and Texas Bandmasters Association.
