Tony Knopp is Professor Emeritus of History after serving on the TSC/UTB faculty for over 30 years. He obtained a doctorate in history from Texas Tech University in 1973.
He is the coauthor of three books on local and border history and has served as editor for several books of studies on regional history. The focus of his research and teaching has been border history and U.S.-Mexico relations.
Knopp is a board member and past president of the Brownsville Historical Association and serves on the Brownsville City Heritage Council.
