Wayne Moore, Professor of English and Special Assistant to the President, earned Bachelor of Arts and PhD degrees from the University of North Texas and Master of Arts from Texas A&M Commerce and was selected for post doctorate studies at Harvard and Stanford.  He has served UTB/TSC for more than thirty years, first as English instructor, then Chair of the English Department, then several years as Vice President for Administration, and several more as Vice President for Partnership Affairs.

 

Dr. Moore was recognized by the University of North Texas as an Outstanding Alumnus and received the National Teaching Excellence Award by the University of Texas in 1989. Prior to his time at UTBTSC, he taught high school English in Dallas. In academic year 1998-99, he served as Registrar, the chief academic officer, of the National College of Ireland. In addition to publications in the teaching of composition and faculty development, Dr. Moore has developed strategic plans and programs for higher education facilities in Ireland, Texas, and Saudi Arabia and made presentations concerning higher education management and facilities construction and maintenance. His current interests include Emily Dickinson, Irish authors, completing Escape a novel in progress, and automobile racing.
