John A. Cook is an Associate Professor and Program Coordinator for the Communication Program at UTB. Dr. Cook joined the COMM Faculty at the Baccalaureate program’s inception in August of 2004.
Dr. Cook holds a Ph.D. in Organizational and Interpersonal Communication Education. He spent the 20 years prior to his return to academe in business and government in applied communication careers, such as Corporate Consulting, Training Management, Corporate Sales, and non-profit Fund raising. In his career in corporate consulting he was engaged in: motivational speaking, assessment, training, Organizational Development, labor relations, change management and implementation of wellness programs.
Dr. Cook’s role in consulting led to the completion of his book The Perils of Empowerment (AuthorHouse.com) Dr. Cook also co-authored a book on persuasion with Dr. Bill Strong. Other research interests include interpersonal dynamics and communication in the classroom.
