GEOL 4440 Geographic Information Systems

This course covers the basics of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) concepts and software such as ArcView and ArcGIS. Special attention will be given to digital data acquisition, processing, data management and the generation of base maps for various applications in the field-based sciences.
