Knight Named Region VI Defensive Player of the Week

Scorpion libero Joanna Knight received the Red River Athletic Conference Women’s Volleyball Libero of the Week award for the dates of October 9-15.

Knight, a junior libero from Denton, supplied 115 digs to fuel UTB/TSC’s defensive effort in a 3-1 week in addition to committing just two receiving errors in 98 total passing attempts. More

Junior libero Joanna Knight has been named the Red River Athletic Conference Women's Volleyball Libero of the Week for the dates of Sept. 25-Oct. 1.

Jessica Barrera of Houston Baptist University (Texas) was named Player of the Week, while HBU’s Natalie Magat was picked as the Setter of the Week. More

 

Scorpions Sweep CSW for 3rd Straight Win

The UTB/TSC women's volleyball team capped off a 3-0 week with a 3-0 victory over College of the Southwest Saturday at the Manuel Garza B. Gymnasium.

The Scorpions won, 31-29, 30-16, 30-25, in the non-conference match. The two teams played a Red River Athletic Conference match Friday, with UTB/TSC also winning that one in five games, 30-23, 22-30, 22-30, 30-17, and 19-17. More

Scorpions Down CSW in 5 Thrilling Games

The UTB/TSC women's volleyball team won an exciting deciding fifth game, 19-17, to take the match victory over College of the Southwest Friday night at the Manuel Garza B. Gymnasium.

The victory keeps the Scorpions atop the Red River Athletic Conference standings with a 3-0 record. The two teams play again at 11 a.m. Saturday in a non-conference match. More

Scorpion Volleyball Team Home for Weekend

The UTB/TSC women's volleyball team hosts College of the Southwest from Hobbs, N.M. in two matches Friday and Saturday at the Manuel Garza B. Gymnasium.

The Friday match begins at 7 p.m. and is a Red River Athletic Conference match. The two teams play again at 11 a.m. Saturday, but is a non-conference match. More

Scorpions Down Texas A&M University-Kingsville

The UTB/TSC women's volleyball team was inspired by a boisterous crowd of 350 people to defeat Texas A&M University-Kingsville, 30-28, 26-30, 30-26, 30-28, Monday night at the Manuel Garza B. Gymnasium.

It was believed to be the first visit to Brownsville for TAMUK (formerly Texas A&I University) since the Javelina "B" team played Texas Southmost College in football in 1950. More

Scorpions Embark on Long Road Trip

The Scorpions women's volleyball team takes to the road for the first of two long road trips when they compete in the NAIA Region VI Challenge Thursday through Saturday, September 21-23 in Lubbock and Plainview.

UTB/TSC stands tied for first place with Texas College in Red River Athletic Conference play with a 2-0 record. This week's matches are non-conference. Overall, the Scorpions are 5-6. More

Scorpions Win First 2 Conference Openers

UTB/TSC started its Red River Athletics Conference competition successfully Saturday, and thus is is tied for first place in the RRAC.

The women's volleyball team defeated Wiley, 30-16, 30-13, 30-18 before a crowd of 380 at the Manuel Garza B. Gymnasium Saturday, September 16. More

Scorpions Finish Winless at TAMUK Tournament

The Scorpion Volleyball team started out strong in two matches, but eventually dropped two decisions to NCAA Division II schools Texas A&M International University and host Texas A&M University-Kingsville at its Labor Day Classic at the Steinke Center September 1-2.

UTB/TSC finished the tournament with a 0-4 record, and is now 3-5 in its first season in the NAIA. More
