Japp Named to NAIA Scholar-Athlete List

Scorpion outside hitter Katie Japp has been selected to the 2007 Daktronics-NAIA Volleyball Scholar-Athlete.

The junior co-captain from Omaha, Nebraska was one of 272 volleyball players selected to the list. Student-Athletes selected must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and have achieved junior academic status to qualify.

Japp maintains a 3.77 GPA at UTB/TSC. She is an Exercise Science major.

Japp has played for the Scorpions for two seasons. In 2007, when the Scorpions finished 36-9 and tied for fifth in the nation, Japp had 354 kills and 410 digs.
