Scorpion middle blocker Talita Milasauskas has been named Red River
Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week, sharing the award
with Liz Meng of Texas Wesleyan University, for the period October
22-28.
Milasauskas, a freshman middle blocker from Sao Paulo, Brazil, led the Scorpions to a 4-0 record and was named to the all-tournament team at the Trinity University (Texas) Invitational. She broke the school record with 31 kills in the Scorpions’ 3-2 win over Trinity and racked up 81 kills for the week with a hitting percentage of .348. Milasauskas averaged 5.4 kills per game and provided 51 digs and six service aces.
The Scorpions, ranked #20 in the NAIA, reached 27-6 overall and remain at 6-0 in conference play.
Milasauskas has 499 kills for the season and needs one more at the Scorpions' next match against The University of Texas-Pan American on the road Thursday, November 1 to reach the 500-kill plateau.
